Astronomy Lab Class

Astronomy, learning about stars and galaxies can be very interesting to me most of the time. Every Wednesday this class meets for about 2 hours even though it says on the syllabus that it meets from 2.45 until 5.30 or so. I swear the professor does not know how to teach a lab class although I'm sure he knows his stuff. Most of the time he just stares off into space when he's talking, and the best part is he doesn't look at the class when he talks which makes everything he says in class hard to catch. Every time I go in, sit down, and ready to learn, there he goes again starring off into space when he talks. I mean c'mon, at least look at the class when you talk, not saying it out loud, but in my head of course. So, there I am sitting and just ranting in my head saying "dude please look at the class when you talk so at least some of us can try to catch what your teaching," God I want to say it out loud so bad, but I didn't want to be rude like this 30 year old immature guy who just talks about nonsense stuff all the time. At least he actually says what I want to say but in a low voice where the professor cant hear; which I already explained. Most of the time the other people aren't even listening as well, because of how the professor is teaching in his own little world during lab class. Looking around, some classmates are just on their laptop and on facebook chatting, some texting on their phones, and one guy at the edge of one table across the room is knitting?.. HAHAHAHA!! I just have to laugh watching that guy knit, of course I have nothing against it. Seeing stuff like that that doesn't have to do with class is entertaining to me. Anyways back to the point here, the professor is clearing not teaching the class to an extent where everyone should be scared that they will be needing this information for in-class quizzes or mid-term. And the in class stuff he gives us to do are somewhat pretty difficult despite the fact that he just hands it to us and expects us to come with an answer without teaching it. As soon as everyone receives the assignment, I pretty much heard everyone go "uhhhh!" "Sow how are we coming up with the answers without him saying anything about the assignment?" Including me. I have enjoyed lab class since my high school years until this particular one I am currently in. It is no good at all. Time just flies by and I'm missing so much of everything this professor is trying to teach which is usually not a good thing. My last resort to is to sit up in the front of the room and use the recorder on my phone to record a 2 hour class session so that i can waste another 2 hours of studying listening to it I guess. But then again, its only a 1 credit class. How hard can it be right?
